LPD arrests murder suspect

MORRIS, ARRION KEONTA - #IN202402197Lewisville Police have arrested Aarion Keonta Morris, 39, of Mesquite, for the murder of 27-year-old Jonathon Michael Berto, of Corinth.

Morris was arrested without incident in the 1800 block of Range Drive in Mesquite late Tuesday night.

On Sunday, June 9, Lewisville police responded to a report of a deceased person in the 1200 block of south IH-35E, along the northbound service road. The circumstances leading to this shooting are still under investigation.

"I want to extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Berto. This is a tragic event, and their loss is something we feel here at the Lewisville Police Department,” said Chief Brook Rollins. "I also want to recognize our officers, detectives, and support personnel who worked tirelessly from the beginning of this case to see it through to a successful arrest.”

Morris is charged with murder and is being held in the Lewisville City Jail. His bond has been set at $2 million.
