Old Town was the first commercial center for the farming community of Lewisville. Much has changed since the first buildings were constructed here in the 1860s and the first brick buildings arrived just before the turn of the century. There still is a strong sense of history that can be seen in the two rows of 100-year-old structures on both sides of Main Street.

But the history of Old Town Lewisville runs deeper than what can be seen today. At its core, Old Town still remembers sites from its colorful past, such as the Degan Livery Stable, Stover Hotel, Jacobsen’s Hardware, Lewisville National Bank, Simms-Moore Lumber, Lewisville Hotel, and so many more.

There is a story from the past just waiting to be found around every corner, and the Old Town Discoveries described here are just a sample. We hope you enjoy this look at some of the businesses and buildings that were a part of Lewisville long ago and that still resonate within the heart of historic Old Town Lewisville today.
