Legler

The Fire Marshal’s Office (FMO) is led by Fire Marshal/Division Chief Tom Legler and consists of 11 dedicated professionals, including the Fire Marshal, Chief Fire Inspector, Investigations Captain (and K9 Celina), five certified Fire Inspectors, and three Fire Investigators/CoCare.

The FMO provides the leadership and services to help prevent fires and to reduce the occurrence and/or impact of fires and other emergencies for those who live, work, and visit Lewisville. The FMO is responsible for code enforcement and education, identifying the origin and cause of fires that occur within the city. We ensure the installation and maintenance of fire protection equipment and systems, as well as monitoring the storage and handling of hazardous materials and substances.

Through a variety of services, the FMO is able to serve the community by providing:

  • Fire Code Inspections, Plan Reviews, and Code Enforcement
  • Fire Investigations
  • Construction and Development
  • Public Safety Education
  • Mental Health Response (CoCare)

The City of Lewisville has adopted the 2021 edition of the International Fire Code, with local amendments that can be found at Fire Code Amendments.
