Pub Education

The Lewisville Fire Department is pleased to offer outreach programs to the community designed to promote fire safety through a variety of educational mediums. Fire safety education offers lectures, educational entertainment for children, and fire safety demonstrations.

The Life and Fire Safety (LaFS) Clowns

The LaFS Clowns create and present fire and life safety related shows to elementary students across Lewisville in October. The fun, entertaining and educational shows teach the importance of life and fire safety skills and behaviors. The LaFS Clowns are also known to make safety videos during their off season.

Smoke Alarm/Battery Program

Every Engine and Truck is equipped with a smoke alarm kit. This kit consists of smoke alarms (donated by area merchants), batteries, and tools to mount and service the equipment. When an Engine or Truck responds to a call, we also check the residence for smoke alarm service and replace as necessary. Before the need arises, we are happy to respond to a citizen’s address and check the status of their smoke alarm. During the year we make an effort to reach our senior citizen’s with a fresh battery or replace their aging equipment with a fresh smoke alarm.

Open House

There are fire house tours, demonstrations by your local fire heroes, and various trucks, boats, and apparatus on display. You will get a chance to experience all that the Lewisville Fire Department has to offer. The next Open House will be announced in 2024.

Visits from Santa

Did you ever wonder what Santa does before Christmas? He is a firefighter! Santa visits Lewisville neighborhoods atop his fire truck sleigh and spreads holiday cheer and yummy treats which area merchants donate. Look for him in the weeks before Christmas. Update: Santa in the Streets has completed for 2023!

Fire Station Tours

Come by anytime and visit your local fire house. We encourage larger groups to schedule an appointment by calling the Lewisville Fire Department at 972.219.3580. During the tour you will see where the firefighters work and live, learning about the working environment and requirements, and their commitment to your community.

For future information on our free educational programs or to schedule an event, please contact the Lewisville Fire Department Administration via email at fireadmin@cityoflewisville.com or 972.219.3580.
